CATTY WOMAN

It’s a big relief to be self-aware. I’m just a catty sort of gal!

I come by it naturally with the South Node of the Moon (best described as our natural, inborn gifts) and powerful Pluto both in the lioness sign of the big cat—Leo. Cumulative experiences of privilege and high social standing, I have known. A regal cat at heart, I am.

I could be the model in Roy Orbison’s lyrics of “Oh Pretty Woman,” those indelible words and tune that live in our memory cells and are easily sing-able this instant. Only I’d be the poem, “Oh Catty Woman.”

I saw several pictures from the Siberian Tiger Project yesterday. As the largest big cat in the world (sometimes reaching nearly 10 feet long, from nose to tail), one photo in particular caught my eye—a magnificent male, whose name is “Zoluschka.”¹ He is snarling ferociously at the cameraperson to state his royal boundaries in his frozen landscape of Far East Russia. He is the embodiment of tiger personhood! Gazing at his matchless beauty, I feel an instant fusion of LOVE for the Cat Realm—the part of the wild kingdom that calls my name. I am graced to know who I am. “Cat” is my sacred innards. Shamanic tradition terms this one’s “power” animal.

Supremely self-contained, and at the top of the hierarchy, cats teach us many valuable lessons from on High:

• Self-possession is power.
• Relaxation and stretching are vital.
• Abundant sleep is primary.
• Eat the choice, best foods.
• Surveying the lay of the land gives a strategic use of energy and
   an ability to distinguish the important from the superfluous
   distractions.
• Ruffling fur over non-essentials is undignified.
• Be fierce when necessary. Otherwise, serenity equates to
   longevity.
• Radiating inner beauty, smile often and show those gorgeous
   teeth.
• Pick the partner that brings a lifetime of joy. Then, the cubs will
    be irresistible, carrying on the mighty Kingly Line.
• Self-love is the basis of a life continually touched by gold.
• When it’s time to relinquish the Kingdom, the Higher Kingdom
   comes into view. The final tribute heard is, “well done, true
   and blessed feline god.”

Life can be as easily enjoyed as it is by these cat exemplars who reveal the Path to the solitary Heights. In the white-clad mountains of silence, there is only the presence of falling snow. There is the majesty of Being and trueness to the Higher Self, which, for me, includes the brave heart of a Catty Woman.

In your own self-knowledge, what animal “energy” is encoded in the very essence of your DNA? Take the time to welcome and embrace it often. Make it a living legacy of who you are when you look in the mirror. Some of you may also see whiskers and that happy, upturned, smiley mouth that cats seem to have. Fortunate for us! For whatever special animal energy accompanies your sacred journey, you are as fortunate.

P.S. The whimsy of this catty post is dedicated to my spiritual sister on her birthday. She is yet another whose heart beats to the Catty Kingdom, at least in part. Purrrrrrrrrrrrrr….

NOTHING NEEDS ADDING

Every moment includes Infinity.

The height of summer is soon upon us in the Northern hemisphere, on June 20, when the Sun flows into the sensitive Water sign of Cancer. This marks the powerful Cardinal point of the Summer Solstice and for those in the Southern hemisphere that of winter. On this annual day, the Sun is at its most elevated reach in the sky, lasting longer than any other day of the year, as it appears motionless crossing the horizon. This is termed “standing still” in its declination, which happens for three days twice a year at the solstices—a moment that also coincides with the axis of the Earth at its greatest tilt toward or away from the Sun. Magically, the Sun pivots or turns on the “N-S axis.” Its direction then reverses. Astrologer April Elliot Kent calls the Summer Solstice “the year’s reevaluation point,” while spiritually it is considered a time of reawakening to and revitalization by the Inner Light.

I’ve recently added a volunteer commitment to my weekly rhythm. It’s a wildlife rehabilitation center where injured and orphaned birds and some small mammals are treated and released back into their natural environments. The group of volunteers is a devoted and skilled bunch who give their time, energy, and love to assist the animal kingdom. The work is physically demanding and heart satisfying. I feel graced to be there, such is the privilege to serve these feathery, furry “little sisters and brothers” in their hours of extreme need and fear.

This experience has expanded my heart spaciousness in ways I couldn’t have imagined. It’s brought an even deeper sense of joy and well-being to my life. How many people get to have close encounters with “wild” animals that are so helpful and respectful? How many ever get to make a direct difference, and sometimes an immediate one, with interventions that return the animal to a state of health and self-reliance? Those of you in the worldwide legion of volunteering in some capacity for animals know exactly what I mean about the extreme measure of LOVE generated from such worthy endeavors. This gift, when broadened to the collective, compounds in its effect for good and raises the vibration of the entire globe.

Now within the orb of the upcoming solstice, associated with the tender love of Divine Mother, I am having a point of realization. As powerfully rewarding as my volunteer experience has been, nothing needed to be added to my life! I already live in a Garden of Eden brimming with contentment and fulfillment—qualities of life only we can give to our self. The Garden of Eden consciousness is right where I am! Right where you are too. It’s created by what we continuously dwell on—thought by thought by thought—and thus become. The Divine Presence can manifest through us all the time, if we allow it. The Inner Light is always glowing bright within us, waiting inwardly to express outwardly in the effortlessness and grace of our lives.

As the Summer Solstice approaches, go into the quiet sanctuary of your heart as often as you can. Relax your body. Take a slow breath in through your nose, and then purse your lips, as though you are breathing out through a straw. Make each subsequent breath a little easier and deeper, releasing your self into the stillness. Continue this breath awareness for a minute or two. Then, settle into listening to the Silence. Allow the peace to enfold you and deepen as Infinity opens out. Presence is present. And any points of realization that are appropriate for you at this time will drift gently to the surface of your consciousness. Perhaps this practise may be for you, like the outward turning of the season from spring to summer, a moment of awakening, reevaluation, and revitalization. Whatever it is, feel yourself blessed.

THE PERFECTION OF THREE

there must be some bond of union between them.

For me, there are three central principles around which the Universal axis turns. These are the mystical principles of oneness, perfection, and love. Together, they form a powerful triangle, similar to the three primary aspects of being human—the body, soul, and spirit. Hands, head, and heart is yet another trinity. The Divine Presence exists in its three forms of expression as the Father, Mother, and Child, and some say an ancient revelation is secreted within this triune. The strength of the triangle is also the building block or foundational support of every structure on Earth.

In astrological parlance, the energies of the planets are linked to one another in what are termed “aspects.” These are geometrical angles, and, in the case of a triangle, the measurement is 120 degrees—reduced to the number 3! The triangle corresponds to an aspect called a “trine,” which signifies an easy flow of positive energy that is harmonious and fortunate, blending and peaceful, much like the gentle nature of Venus. Naturally related to creation (or creativity) and inspiration, a trine (or triangle) has the power to inspire and elevate. Jupiter’s number is three, so the two most fortunate planets carry this blessed “3” vibration. The number for Venus is 3 plus 3—the two triangles of matter and spirit in perfect balance. And in numerology, three is associated with joy, wholeness, and completeness. Perhaps the old wives’ tale of “all good things come in three’s” is a gem of wisdom.

“Omne trium perfectum” is a Latin phrase
that sums up an ultimate Truth:
Every thing, which comes in threes, is perfect.
And, every set of three is complete.¹

In the end, oneness, perfection, and love are exactly interchangeable. Oneness not only suggests the strength of singularity but also the unity with every other thing. It is both self-contained and interconnected. It connotes the highest consciousness. Above all, it is wholeness and perfection. The entirety of Divinity expressing Itself is included, as it is impossible for any thing to exist in this Universe out of relationship with every other thing. Oneness is an unwavering Law.

Perfection is a pre-existent state. What begins as Original Perfection replicates Itself as perfection. We are born supplied with all the potential we need for a lifetime. It’s a matter of realization and then daily living our inherent perfection. If we look to Nature, She gives us instruction regarding our fullness and totality. Take a lily, for instance, or any flowering plant or tree. The perfect lily comes forth from within the bulb, not from any external source, as does the fruit of the tree. A bird’s egg or the web of a spider is inwardly generated and outwardly expressed as a faultless creation. It’s all a matter of flow and allowing the consciousness of the Perfected Life to live through us. Perfection is an unwavering Law.

Love is the fundamental essence; call it the base of the triangle upon which all else is built. “Love is the answer,” as the song goes. It is the keynote, the only true power, the only true relatedness. And it is self-renewing. The more we share our love, the more we have. Love is that attainable blending when the lion and lamb lie side by side in perfect harmony, as though the lion is the lamb and the lamb the lion. The same spark of Divine Light is hidden in the hearts of both, in the hearts of each of us.

In this oneness of Spirit, every person’s gifts and service add benefit to the whole. The Master Jesus spoke it plainly in the words, “Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.” Thus, what we reap is the inner fruit we envision, grow, and nurture within our self and thus give forth. This beautiful fruit is birthed from our Oneness, Perfection, and Love.

SWEET, SWEET HEART

Matters of the heart are the heart of the matter.

Several interesting “heart” messages have passed through my life in the last few days. It seems when a key issue of life is ripe for a broader interpretation than the comfortable perception and habitual response we typically engage, all kinds of synchronistic events cross our path. The awakening whistles and flashing lights arrive! New pathways beckon, whether they are consciously creating patterns of new circuitry in our brain or the great courage it may take to learn new skills in an intensely demanding volunteer position.

One of my amazing heart coincidences was the timely arrival of Carolyn Myss’s April Salon, where she writes about “Habitus Maximus: The Greatest Habits Of Your Heart.” She describes these guiding habits of our heart and soul as those that lead us to become “a congruent or whole human being.” They are the habits of “who you really are by God’s design.” She further notes they must be continuously maintained.¹

Last Saturday night, as a prelude to the movie, “The Impossible,” I learned about “The Happy Hearts Fund,” originally created for the children affected in the massive 2004 tsunami (triggered by an Indian Ocean earthquake), which ultimately morphed into an organized effort to help rebuild the shattered lives and hope of children after natural disasters.² It was created by Petra Němcová, who was at a coastal resort in Thailand with her fiancé when the tsunami hit. He drowned, and she was badly injured. After her own intensive recovery, she returned to Thailand to witness the enormity of families without homes, children without parents, and entire communities that had been swept away. The Happy Hearts Fund was her own heart’s response to the thousands in desperate need.

How many of us stop long enough to listen to the words
of our heart? How many of us even think to thank
our heart daily for its splendid, silent service
to our body and life every second of every day?

A heart-savvy friend sent me a fabulous book from the Institute of HeartMath, which is an international organization “dedicated to helping people reduce stress, self-regulate emotions and build energy and resilience for healthy, happy lives.”³ Promptly devouring the book⁴ a few days ago, I’m having a whole new heart experience. Several times a day, I stop to put my right hand over my heart area and then breath a few gentle, deeper intakes of air, slowing the pace of the day, while remembering what truly matters.

This is the first step of the HeartMath® formula after recognizing that one’s “stress button” has been activated. It’s a refreshing, quiet pause to shift into and tap our heart consciousness, since “heart” comes from the Latin cor—the core or center of the body. The Old English heorte expands the meaning to include not only the heart but also the breast, soul, spirit, will, desire, courage, and mind. Spiritually, the heart has its own heaven-centered mind—the place of full-fillment in all ways, on all levels. Connecting with and breathing into the spark of the Divine present in our heart, we are connecting “as below” with “so above.” We move toward the congruence and wholeness described by Carolyn Myss and toward what HeartMath® calls “coherence.”

Astrologically speaking, the Sun-ruled Leo, with its zest for life, is the zodiac sign that signifies anatomic rulership over the cardiac system, the back, spinal cord, and sides of the body. Known as the “master control center,” the heart is the dominant organ of the body. In fact, the electromagnetic signal of the heart has about fifty times more amplitude than the next biggest generator—the brain. Moreover, the signals from the heart can be measured about eight feet from the body, while the brain’s signals must be measured at or near the brain’s surface.⁵

As well, consider the heart to be an unerring intuitive compass, because all answers arise inwardly. “You should carefully observe the way toward which your heart draws you,” the philospher Martin Buber once observed, “then choose this way with all your strength.” Thus, being in union with our essential Self, we tread the Path of Divine Heart. The Leo experience, when emphasized in a natal birth chart, so often speaks of learning and opportunities that are associated with the 4^th chakra—the heart, which is considered the central powerhouse of the body’s subtle, energy system. “Everything in and about our lives runs off the fuel of our hearts,” Caroline Myss tells us.

So, to get at the heart of the matter and access our body’s magnificent powerhouse, here are the steps of the HeartMath® process to de-activate our typical stress reaction and then to write new patterns of coherent response:

• Shift your focus to the area of the heart and breathe slowly and deeply—five seconds in and five seconds out—through your heart for two to three rounds.

• Activate a genuine feeling of appreciation or care for someone or something in your life [which can include for the physical heart itself].

• Send these feelings of appreciation or care toward yourself and others.

• Sustain these appreciative feelings and attitudes in a Heart Lock-In for five minutes or longer. The longer you can do this and hold it, the better it is for you and your system. You’re learning to sustain coherence [attaining harmony throughout the body and mind].⁶

I’ve been using this process for only a few days, but already I’m feeling the essence of my sweet, sweet heart. My overall gratitude increases—and my resistance lessens—with each little heart tune-in. The more I appreciate, the more beautiful all of life becomes. My beauty receptors are expanding. My hope is you will try it too and step into the power and guidance of your own precious heart.

IN-PUT AND OUT-PUT

We’re in the terrain of the current trio of eclipses, as a Lunar eclipse culminates today at 12:57 PM (PST) with the Full Moon at 6° Scorpio/Taurus. A Solar eclipse occurs on May 9 and another Lunar eclipse follows on its heels on May 25. Today is also the annual power-filled, but peaceful, Wesak Festival of Lord Buddha—an evolutionary time when there is a great OUT-PUT of Spiritual Light that envelopes the Earth and all life as a divine blessing of loving IN-PUT.

Moreover, we are inching toward the third exact interaction of life-altering Uranus squaring the destructive, but regenerative, forces of Pluto on May 20. In the speed-up of time ushered in since the Winter Solstice, which marked the beginning of what’s been called the next Golden Age, life seems to change almost second-by-second in small and big shifts that temporarily flatten us out or lift us up. Time feels very different to me!

Our reaction—in the fast-paced moment—may be to breath shallowly. But awareness of the breath is of supreme importance; especially since the bottom one-third of our lungs absorbs two-thirds of the incoming re-supply of fresh air and vital energy into our body. Described by Indians as the “breath of life” or prana and by the Chinese as “strength” (amongst other meanings) or ch’i, it’s akin to consciously breathing in the Divine Breath—the sparks of Light—that interpenetrate our physical cells and consequently en-“lighten” us. We become lighter. Self-acceptance, of all that is, returns.

Underscoring this theme is Saturn, a strong player during the next few weeks for a number of reasons. Functioning at times as a call to be solitary, this wise teacher is perhaps requesting that we “disconnect” our connective tentacles, such as those to our cell phones, ipods, blackberries, and social media, for significant periods each day. Although these devices may have a valuable place in our culture, too many people rely solely on the copious out-put and guidance from others to determine their course, rather than sitting quietly, calmly cultivating their own magical “inner”-put and personally customized guidance. Only inward reflection and receptivity opens and deepens the space for epiphanies that rearrange one’s life in affirmative, insightful ways. Carolyn Myss describes the inner recesses as the “inner-net.”

The central issue is what we give out as the energy that precedes us. It is the sum total of our personal, karmic responsibility (Saturn’s domain). Whatever type of out-put an individual sends forth will inevitably rebound on the person who sent it. Spiritually viewed, what we do to another we actually do to our self in the soul repercussions that are generated. Such is the true Biblical meaning of “loving thy neighbor as thyself,” the one who in reality shares the very same Self or Self-hood component that we all equally share.

The instant such awareness becomes consciously realized is the moment our internal poles shift from the gimme-and-getting pole to the giving-generously-in-the-fullness-of-grace pole. Thus, we are empowered (Pluto) by our own interior illumination and brilliance (Uranus). In honor of the sacred Wesak Festival today, it is the same as saying our Buddhic nature arises in its entirety. This is the state of Heart Happiness wherein the singular OUT-PUT is LOVE.

In the optimal light of today’s Wesak Full Moon, Scorpio is the sign that often requires dramatic episodes of letting go and relinquishment of the lower forms of human nature for higher, more advanced expressions, releasing elements of our being that drain precious energy. As the modern ruler of Scorpio, Pluto’s central role in the current cosmic fingerprint reiterates this message. Pure Scorpionic imagery depicts, as its highest emblem, the magnificent eagle soaring above it all, viewing life impersonally. Controller of its destiny and master of the airways, the eagle is free and empty of self-concern, full and complete in itself. We, too, may one day attain to the spiritual mastery signified by the pathway of Scorpio, surrendering all and flying high with the golden eagles.

ON BENDED KNEES

Every single act of each one of us makes a difference. The crucial factor is the level of consciousness from which we act. As an interconnected Hologram of Universal Life, what I do affects you and what you do affects me—and the entire world and beyond. The loving Light radiating from one heart can cancel out the darkness in the hearts of ten thousand others. Each of us is that powerful.

Yesterday, on Patriots Day, a day normally spent in great celebratory joy as each triumphant runner crosses the finish line at the famed Boston Marathon, shocks waves of tragedy, horror, and grief spread across our nation and the world. Time stood still for those surreal moments when we each learned of this unimaginable act of extreme violence. Today, we know that three people have died, which includes the 8-year-old boy awaiting his father at the finish line, while more than 170 individuals are in various stages of serious to critical condition.

The image that came to me late last night gave my deeply saddened heart much comfort. Individual by individual, all across the globe, I saw each of us go down gently on our knees in prayerful silence and respect, sending out our deepest thoughts of solidarity and healing Light for those who lost their physical lives, the injured, all the runners in the marathon, the people of Boston, all the rescue workers and officials, the team of investigators—one by one by one the uplifting Light spreading all across our country and the world. Every single person became enfolded in Arms of endless Love, Support, Strength, and Spiritual Comfort.

Consider that in Boston, and wherever a need arises, there is a multitude of Angelic Presence available and ministering, as well as the Master Jesus walking amidst the people of Boston. As the Master at the head of the Sixth Ray of Healing, we are assured the enlightened Jesus is fully present and knows the need of every person. All those agents of healing, whose presence is needed from the Invisible Realms, join all those who are directly involved on the physical level. There is indeed a Solidarity of Goodness that can never be overcome by the unconsciousness of darkness. In all ways, the Light and Love of Heaven is the one and only True Power. Of this we can be sure!

WORDS THAT UPLIFT

Lately, I’ve been awakening in the wee dark hours. Feeling completely relaxed, words come into my mind in my opened state of absolute peace and unimpeded listening. The words have to be written down after they are repeated several times until they feel heavenly right. But if I delay in their transcription until I’ve arisen, they vanish in the light of day.

These particular words are ones that came through my filter. So, if it feels right for you, take these words into your own morning’s quiet time. Repeat them slowly, like a mantra, summoning Divine Presence into your consciousness. Continue to repeat them even more slowly. In this sacred space, you will feel more and more serene and emptied of outer thoughts. Internal harmony will fill your being. These words, or “hearing” you own personal variation, will take you deep, deeper, deeply into the Land of Oneness.

This type of meditative affirmation, at its highest purpose, is a form of loving our self unconditionally and of aligning with our True Self.

The following are this morning’s “inner” words. “God” is the word that came to me, but substitute your own personal choice for the name of “Great Spirit” if that better suits your sensibilities.

It’s all God.
All God. All God.
God alone. Only God.

God breathing my life.
God is breathing my life.
God in every breath.

God creating and guiding my life.
God is creating and guiding my life.
God in every creation and guidance.

God loving my life.
God is loving my life.
God in my life.

God lighting my life.
God is lighting my life.
God in my light.

It’s all God.

CONSTANT PROVISION

God works in fabulously funny ways to get His/Her point across—yet again! It’s not everyday a person finds money on the street. In a very poignant way, we did today, as we rode our bikes home from the grocery store.

Nuts are a staple part of our diet, and we had a hankering lately for some walnuts. However, they have been exceedingly pricey for the past few years, as have many varieties of nuts. On this particular outing, I’d looked at the current price/pound of walnuts, hoping it would be reasonable. Peddling home, I happened to remember to tell Chris that walnuts were on sale for $6.99/pound. Not more than a few seconds later, Chris glanced down at the pavement to see a couple of paper bills. A one-dollar bill, then a folded five-dollar bill, and another one-dollar bill. Seven dollars exactly!! We looked at each other and laughed at how quickly our walnut craving was literally provided for but not through any means of our own! And just for added measure, Chris noticed yet another dollar bill on the other side of the street!

The Divine Voice whispered through the gift of manifested dollars in our hand: “So go buy your pound of walnuts on me. There is always a sufficiency. Ask and allow.”

Every moment is truly an opportunity to recognize the Divine Presence in our lives appearing as provision. Whatever happens to be our desire or need, it all comes through heavenly manna—if only we allow it to manifest. Remember Moses and the Israelites wandering in the desert for forty years? When the whole Israelite community grumbled against Moses and Aaron that they would all starve to death in the desert (Exodus 16: 3-4), then the Lord said to Moses, “I will rain down bread from heaven for you. The people are to go out each day and gather enough for that day.” They were told to gather a daily supply of manna only and eat it all—with faith—storing none for the following day (as any leftovers bred worms and stank). And this “grain of heaven” (Psalm 78:24) and “spiritual food” (1 Corinthians 10:3) sustained them for forty years until they reached the border of Canaan where they settled.

They asked, and he brought them quail;
he fed them well with the bread of heaven.
Psalm 105:40

There is an eternal river of supply. We just have to put our boat into the river and paddle until guidance and Supply from Source show up. Like Jesus telling the crowd (John 6:32), “…it is my Father who gives you the true bread from heaven.” And like the birds that show up every morning at the birdie buffet in our garden, there is magically all the food they require for energy for their day. The human mama bird who feeds them their provision does so through the grace of Omnipotent Supply.

Every moment is truly an opportunity to become what we believe and to appreciate all the ways Divine Presence appears constantly in our lives as the exact provision.

I’m off to buy that pound of walnuts!! And every walnut eaten will be savored as God given.

SACRED GUARDIANS

Pluto, god of all forms of transitions and death, has been quite active lately. Some people I know are having direct encounters with Pluto’s closing and opening of chapters in their lives. And, I’m having my own plutonian episode with a temporary health issue, something I’ve never had before. In my case, it is not an irrevocable change, as Pluto tends to bring, but a momentary snapshot I can alter through more conscious choices. Sadly, the others lost loved ones through physical death. A door closed for them. The new one will have its own timeliness.

Emotions are generally heightened right now. Mine are! Any pent-up stress can easily erupt due to the current cosmic dance of inflammatory Mars with disruptive Uranus (now separating) and today’s culminating square of Mars with the intensity of Pluto, further activating the touchy energy of the long-term Uranus/Pluto square. Fuses are ready to be lit, if we are unmindful for a split second. I lit one of those anger fuses this morning, in a moment of reactive misunderstanding. Remorse was the result.

It is in these trying moments that our sacred guardians arrive—unannounced. The Unified Field of Consciousness is always active. An emotion gets translated throughout the energy system of the Oneness of all life. The need heard. A guardian shows up, responding to the inner call.

Sacred guardians come in myriad forms. Some call them totems or guides. For Native Americans, it is the “medicine of animals,” as a manifestation of “unity with all our relations.”¹ Every person has a spiritual affinity with certain animals. They function as our personal “power animals,” and, in our conscious, heart-to-heart relationship with them, we can come into greater alignment of body, mind, and spirit. Our animal guardians impart timely messages and reveal lessons that bring us healing, understanding, strength, courage, resilience, power, and the endurance to attain self-mastery. Every gift bestowed from a revered guardian connects us closer to Divinity and the realization that life is a sacred circle.

Finishing the morning’s dishes, a bit sad that my Mars anger had gotten the better of me again, I happened to look out the kitchen window. There, up on the horizontal branch of our maple tree, was a mourning dove calmly waiting for my notice. I gasped! Never had I seen my sacred guardian there! I felt its beautiful peace and harmony pour over me, bathing me in its gentle understanding and compassion for my humanness. Another dove caught my eye as it waddled down our bark pathway, poking along for little edibles. Then a third dove and a fourth came across the concrete. I was alight with joy! No medicine could have healed and restored me more than those blessed moments with my sacred doves. A calm stillness reigned again in my heart. I continue to be filled with gratitude for their gift.

Take a quiet moment now to recollect a time when one of your sacred guardians arrived at precisely the right moment. What feeling did it engender for you? Can you recall the healing balm or gift it brought?

A NEIGHBOR’S NEED

The trees of a forest appear separate aboveground.
Belowground they are interconnected through miles of
a filamentous network of mycorrhizal fungus.
The forest is an interactive, interdependent system.

A few month’s ago the husband of a sweet neighbor passed on. They were like two peas in a pod—inseparably 24/7—and seldom did much apart from each other. When his terminal illness took him from her visible presence and sight into the inner world of spirit, she was shattered. She is still devastated in ways no one on the outside can truly comprehend, even if we have experienced similar losses.

Appearances never tell the story. We may think or feel we know what it looks like from the outside. But we never, ever know what’s actually transpiring inwardly or why. In this specific example, we never know what useful “soul” purpose this “apparent separation” is serving for her growth and his now liberated spirit or for their family and friends—or neighbors, for that matter.

Each person’s expression of deepest suffering and grief is uniquely their own, in their own way, in their own timing. No matter what it looks like on the outside, when spiritually discerned, events and circumstances in our lives happen perfectly and move forward according to a Purposeful Plan for all involved.

What we can do is light a candle in our hearts for a neighbor whose pain is real, asking the Healing Light of Heaven to enfold her, so that she feels, even if only on the subconscious level, that she’s not alone in her anguish, solitude, and heightened vulnerability. Like the forest, life is about inclusion, as there is indeed no such thing as exclusion in a Universe of Omnipresent Divinity. The Sanskrit mantra “Tat Tvam Asi” further affirms: “I see the other in myself and myself in others.” We can love with non-interference, supporting her in a way(s) she needs, giving her space to have her own process of grief and gradual healing, rather than trying to change its course or put our overlays of “shoulds” on it in hopes she’ll be more “functional” or in line with what grief is suppose to look like at the four-month marker. When she is ready to reach out from her tender state, we can be there.

Until then, we can hold her in the energy of love while her heart slowly mends. Sometimes there is simply nothing we can do at an outer level, because the person signals she wants to be left to her self, undisturbed in the privacy of her home. But there is much cherishment and assistance we can give on an inner level. White Eagle reminds us that it is not always the person “who stands on the platform” in front of all eyes who is “necessarily doing the most valuable work. …the simple soul working quietly in the background to help others is as valuable as the person who leads. All are one in the eyes of God.” All sharing of our spiritual gifts and service lovingly given is equal.

The simple things are also the most extraordinary things,
and only the wise can see them.

Because we are all manifestations of the One Consciousness—the Divine Life unfolding individually—my steadiness, compassionate understanding, and love flow to my neighbor’s mourning heart as another part of the One Consciousness. This is the same principle the Master Jesus used to heal those in need. The person did not have to be in his immediate presence, like the Roman soldier’s servant, to be healed fully. Jesus could direct and send rays of light from his heart, as Love creates healing rays of Light.

Neither do I need to audibly speak a comforting word to my neighbor, in her presence, to be of kindly service to her. The inner message to help another, caring about another’s state of emotions or mind, loving another gets transmitted heart to heart. When we request help or ask for another (or ourselves), according to the Teachings of Abraham™, “it is always given,” because “Source hears and answers your request.” The more we are loving in this moment the more LOVE becomes the dominant, vibrational signature on Earth.
