CONTEMPLATIVE THOUGHTS FOR EASTER WEEK

Many people are a bit stunned to learn that the pain
or confusion that often increases when one engages
the spiritual path is not an indication that you are
doing something wrong, but that you are
doing something right.

Projections of our own [onto others]
come back home for transformation.
Isabel Hickey, famed astrologer and teacher

regenerative interaction of Uranus with Pluto
from 2012-2015, supporting our authentic growth
to access and move to higher, illumined levels of Being.]

There is a spiritual center within every one of us,
and in that center is stored up our entire spiritual
heritage. This center is not within the body, but in our
consciousness, and we can draw out of the infinity
of our consciousness all that is necessary for our
unfoldment from this day unto the end of the world
and beyond it into infinity.
Joel Goldsmith, The Thunder of Silence

The spiritual path is not about being given your way,
but being shown your way.

The original and basic creative principle and substance
of life is God, Soul, or Consciousness, but mind
is the instrument through which God’s activity
takes place, because properly understood and utilized,
mind is an instrument of God. When the mind is open
to receive the divine Impulse, harmonious and
perfect form flows out from it.
Joel Goldsmith, The Thunder of Silence

This sacred flower [the white lily] of Easter is used
to celebrate the whole round of life from birth to
re-birth, marking the commemoration of Jesus’
resurrection from the tomb of physical matter.
Some legends state that when Mary’s tomb was visited
three years after her burial it was empty—except
for the holy white lilies. Could it be that the fragrant
Easter lily is thus a reassuring symbol for the
renewal of life and the constant outpouring of Love
from the heart of Christ? Eventually, when we reach
the point of total surrender, this Divine Love liberates
us from our earthly strivings into a state of harmony
and wholeness, to return Home
as a treasured child of God.

May we tell you that the crucifixion is not as you
understand it. It is a symbol of the spiritual growth
and evolution of human kind, the symbol of the initiation
of the earth, and it can be the story of the liberation
of the spirit from the domination of the flesh and earthly matter . . . This is a lesson which Easter has to teach.
It is a time of sweet surrender to the light and beauty
of the spirit; and with this surrender comes the great outpouring from the Son, Christ, to bless the child of God.

Give me a candle of the Spirit, O God, as I go
down into the deeps of my being. Show me the hidden
things, the creatures of my dreams, the storehouse of forgotten memories and hurts. Take me down to the
spring of my life and tell me my nature and my name.
Give me freedom to grow, so that I may become that self,
the seed of which you planted in me at my making. Out
of the deeps I cry to you, O God.
Jim Cotter, Prayer at Night: A Book for the Darkness

‘Where Jesus knelt to share with thee the silence
of eternity, Interpreted by love’ . . . we think of
this vision of the Master Jesus, with light radiating
through him, the light of peace and the light of love,
bringing healing to all who come within his aura.
Let us open our souls to his inspiration, and
understand the ideals of true living, of service
towards each other, and of the growth of God within.
We pray that we may be true, worthy channels in his
path of service. O God, may light and healing go
forth from us to comfort the sad and the suffering,
and give courage to those who must fight
the good fight. May we who worship here go forth
recharged and rededicated to the work of the spirit
on earth. May your light shine on earth
as it does in heaven.
