Let us kneel humbly
to see a mouse munching greens.
Moments of gladness.

Little furry ones.
In their innocence of life.
Graced by their presence.

Splashing in water.
Birds taking leisurely baths.
Fun, shared interludes.

Haven made for all.
Freshen water; spread seeds, nuts.
Ever may we serve.

Wee ones are mirrors.
We give and sow Love, Light, Peace.
Earth elevated.

Beauty everywhere!
Each has its own precious place.
The Circle complete.

May all beings be free from enmity;

May all beings be free from injury;

May all beings be free from suffering;

May all beings be happy.

Buddhist Prayer for Animals to be Free From Suffering

As a mother even with her own life protects
her only child, so should one cultivate immeasurable
loving-kindness towards all living beings.

The Metta Sutta (from Buddhism)
