At the water’s edge,
some wait for bread to show up.
They want to get “theirs.”

When you bottle up,
live a fear-based, Scrooge-ish life,
the more becomes less.

A cup of water
shared allows the spring to flow.
What you give, you gain.

To have freedom now,
cast the bread of forgiveness.
In freeing, you’re free.

Cast bread of kindness
as ripples of goodness spread
encircling the globe.

Cast the bread of peace.
One heart resting in calmness,
guns fall to the ground.

Cast bread of hearing
someone’s story of deep grief.
Watch their shoulders rise.

Casting bread of joy
brings light to dim, darkened hearts.
Smiles soon result.

Cast bread of beauty.
Its effect is harmony.
Spirit’s uplifted.

Cast the bread of love
to realize our unity—
hand to hand to hand.

Cast the bread of grace.
Divine infusions passed on.
Cast the bread you have.

Soul-shine! Be a beacon in these dark seas, the Hermit
with his lantern. A lighted soul throws off sparks, like
signal flares. Struggling souls catch that light. It’s not
for us to know which, or whose, acts will tip the current
critical mass toward an enduring, sustainable good.
We’re needed; that’s all we can know.
